Transmission

Once again guys, thanks to all of you for the help. Just about finished the tear down on the 1950 Mercury M-68 (F3). I am trying to identify the transmission out of it. There is currently a PTO mounted on the ****** that I would like to remove as I am putting the original box back on the truck. The truck has an EAC motor and both the ****** and motor are painted blue.
Questions:
1. Is this the proper transmission for this truck?
2. Is it a 4-speed and can it possibly be a 5 speed?
3. If I remove the PTO is it a simple procedure ie unbolt and simply put on the plat which I currently do not have.
*Casting number on ****** case is 01T-7006 and on the shifter top is 041T-7222
Thanks

Its a 4-speed non syncronized transmission.
You can always leave the PTO and just take away the controls for it.
Or as you say bolt the cover plate there instead its as simple as it can be just bolton.

I am trying to post some pictures but am having a hard time. Is this the proper transmission for the year truck?

I here you. I drove an old fire truck and missed 1st gear on the down shift. Had to pull over and start again
