T98 four speed

I am putting a T-5 behind a 283 sbc to go in a Model A.You will have to get a droveshaft cut to fit and many more things. It will make a nice driver if done right! Ajohn

Those old flathead/ Borg Warner T-98s are getting kind of hard to find. If you can find one from a 48 to 50 F-4 or bigger, you would have one that may bolt up but you might have to alter for rear mounting and driveshaft length. T-9 rock crushers were much more common but were old tech for sure.

I think, and may be wrong, that the removable bell / clutch release casting attached to the late T9s can be used to mount a T98. The T98 is longer than the T9 and will interfere with your rear cross member (probably). If you just want a synchronized transmission, use the heavy or light duty 3 speeds available at the time as they bolt in with no cutting required.
