Still vibrating, but it's better

A while ago, I posted that my coupe idled very smoothly but rev it up and it seemed like the hammers of hell were under the hood. It seems slightly better these days. I read in another thread that if the points were too close, it can create a similar situation. I checked the points, yes, too close! I gapped them to a loose .018. Nothing! Same vibration! I ran it with the vacuum gauge on it. Idle is a perfect, steady 21/22 inches. Not the slightest drop! Then I revved it up to 1200/1400 rpm (I'm guessing here) and the gauge was all over the lot.
Sticky valves? Valve float? Gas feed issues? Or what? This is really annoying. I've put MMO and ATF in the crankcase. One thing I've noticed is that the vibration has less intensity or moment to it as the engine gets hot, But it does not go away altogether.

I guess I don't remember the previous posts about the engines history or condition.. But,, if the vibration seems to be getting a little better then maybe a couple valves are still a bit sticky.. How about trying to mix some ATF with some fuel, dump it in and run it for awhile and see what happens.. She'll probably smoke a bit,, but,, the oil might make the guides a little 'slipperier'..
Have you given the distributor cap and good look to make sure there are no cracks or carbon tracks ??

Before taking anything apart, I'd ry a can of Sea-Foam in the gas and another can in the oil. That stuff really worked for a 1980 Olds I bought with sticky lifters.

How about taking the valve cover off and spraying a good penetrating lube into the valve assem. Follow it up with some light oil, such as 3-in-one oil or similar. Make sure the timing is correct! Using the wrong side of the lobe will do this. Check for intake manifold leaks too.
