steering column motometer

I have both dash and column mount gauges and would a adapter that came with my first nos gauge shown in the pictures. The top thread is 1/2-24 with no holes drilled in the stud or head, works great for the last 25 years.

sorry

We know this device as a thermocouple. I know of a model A with one on a rear stud (the hottest area). the readout responds very quickly to changes in the engine. Even putting the foot down on a hill will see the numbers rise. The one I have seen has an audio alarm built in which can be set to what ever you like. I was so impressed, I think I might use one myself.

Anyone have the dimensions for a good spot on the side of the head to drill and tap to install a gauge fitting?

I think this plug is the is the location of a temp. sending unit.

Who know why someone would drill a hole on the side of a head? Some people get carry away drilling hole. How many of us had to patch holes in the firewall?
