Starter Question

Try a hardware store or plumbing supply for a fibre washer or a local starter/ generator rebuilder might have some.

Kurt,

That was my thought, I made a washer out of a belt(a good one, the car is more important then keeping my pants up). The problem is that it is too thick and holds the armature tight. Any one know the thickness. I will also try those locations suggested above.

A quick shout out to Russ/40. This is one classy gentleman. We have never met, but only share this hobby. He graciously offered to send me the washers I needed without asking for anything. This is what I believe this hobby and forum is all about. Thank you Russ/40 you are the man.
In addition, I filed my belt/washer to be paper thin(quality sucks) and used it as a thrust washer. Hooked up the starter and it runs perfectly.
I am also recognizing that a battery starter/charger does not work as a starter tester. Once again the forum responses were right. I had to hook the starter up to a battery to make the starter work properly.
