Soo Hot!

Yep like Henry said. The autozone/autometer ones come with adapters to fit to just about any inlet. The capillary tubes are a bit long but you can coil them up and hide it under the dash. Dont kink it though. sw comes with adapters as well.

Thread size is 3/8" pipe.
Steam coming out of the oil fill tube??? Wad it actually steam spewing out or an oil fume haze? One is reasonably normal, the other is bad.
If you had as you said lots of steam coming out from under the hood, like it over heated, it probably was.
Get a gauge.
Martin.

I wonder what size fitting and where I could get it, to screw into my 8ba sensor hole? That is what I am going to do! Slick setup and hidden! Thanks man!

Since those pictures were taken I've also added a mechanical oil pressure gauge in the glove box as my dash gauge reads way low.

I was thinking of doing the same thing. My oil gauge I don't trust either and before picking up a new oil sending unit it would make more sense to just install a hidden gauge.

I tried to get my stock dash oil pressure gauge to read more accurately by replacing the sending unit. It didn't help. One more reason to put in a mechanical backup.

Yes I do have an IR laser heat gun so maybe this weekend I will check with that and see where its at.

When you are choosing a location to measure temperature keep in mind that it's the water temperature that's more critical than the engine temperature. The most accurate temperature of the water is read on the side of the top of the radiator as it enters the radiator from the radiator hoses, not right on the top surface as there may be some air there, right on the side of the top. Measuring the temperature of the heads or other part of the engine block is going to show a higher temperature than the water inside.
