Side Curtains

I got mine from LeBaron Bonney. You'll need to follow their directions to get the grommets and snaps in the right places. Caveat: Now that I've got them, I never use them!

You will have a hard time getting side curtains currently. LB won't hardly make them anymore because its become so hard to get the male snaps. A&L is supposed to start offering the snaps again though. You might call them on getting an order of the snaps. Then you would have to mail those to LB. then make patterns for your side curtains and mail those to LB as well. Us phaeton guys are having a hard time curantly. Did you have any luck getting a rear rubber mat for your car?

Thanks all

Arlan, mine came with like new mats (front and rear), so I was lucky.

JBill, that's exactly what I was wondering and debating, how much I'd actually use them?

I had them on the 29 roadster I owned, bought them from LeBaron Bonney but only used them once, found them to be too confining as the wind wings had to be folded in. When I built my 30 roadster I didn't order them.

if you get caught in a real downpour, or below normal temperature, you 'll wish you had them.... so will your copilot.....

Thanks for all confirmations on what my thinking was about the amount of use I'd get out of them. The tarp idea makes a lot of sense also.

Here's a photo of my 1930...

I got my side curtains for my roadster from L/B approx 15 years ago.. still good shape. HOWEVER, YOU ALMOST NEED A INSTRUMENT RATING TO DRIVE WITH THEM INSTALLED! last summer I took the door curtains to a local shop that make boat tops, covers, etc and using my side curtains as patterns, he made a pair that were all clear vinyl with a border just wide enough to install all the hardware. Not pretty to look at, but at least I can see out.. If I get caught in the rain, no big deal now.

I ordered side curtains for my roadster in 2002 when i bought the car, used them maybe 2-3 times, real pain, if i had it to do over i would;nt order them. i carry with me in the trunk just in case .

Wish my Pheton had side curtains. I won't drive for the 6 month road salt polution season, but a lot of other days I could use the curtains. I do agree that they sure limit the side view. A guy in our club also made some large clear side curtains.

I had a set made by LB about 10 years ago. I use them quite a bit as I do not hesitate to use the car if rain is predicted. If you only plan to use your car on blue sky days I agree with those that say don't order them. If you do order them and plan to use them...remember they take a few minutes to put in place. How wet can you get putting your side curtains on if you start installing them when the first rain drops fall? Pretty wet! This I know from experience.
Good Day!
