Shock rebuilder?

I have some shocks I recently removed from a 46 Ford.
I'd like to get them rebuilt in a timely fashion.
Will there be anybody at Hershey who rebuilds them?
If not who should I ship them too?
Thank you.

I had good results with Apple Hydraulics 1610 Middle Road Calverton N.Y. 11933 1-800-882-7753. They did shocks for me 10 years ago and they still work fine. No leaks. You might call to see if they will be in Hershey

I had just the opposite experience with Apple perhaps 12 years ago. They destroyed an authentic set (rare) of 39 shocks. DESTROYED.

Thank you. I'm looking for someone other than Apple. I know Bill Wzorak is booked up. I was hoping there was someone else like him.

I don't know if M&S is still in business, somewhere on the west coast, but you DO NOT want to send your shocks to them, and you DO NOT want to get their reproduction versions either. This is my opinion based on personal experiences with them, and also hearing and reading of others who had problems with them. With Bill Wzorek only accepting a minimum amount of shock rebuilding work, your next best source is probable Apple Hydraulics.

After just reading Mikes post about Apple, maybe he could send you a PM on who rebuilds his shocks now and/or send a PM to Bill Wzorek to see if he has someone he would recommend. Just a thought.

John, IF M&S is still in business I would be both amazed and appalled. They made Apple look like well, they kind of knew what they were doing.
Bill is the only guy I know of but understand he is not taking any new work for the time being. Perhaps (hopefully) I am wrong about that.

Bill is one heck of a good guy and does VERY good work.

I also had a bad experience with M&S.
I would hope and fully expect that they are now making quality products in the concrete patio furniture business.

These guys did a set of 1946 Ford shocks for us and did a great job, they even "dip" paint them like Henry did.

M&S gets a F- from me too. They ruined mine. Apple did my '40 shocks and they worked fine but one did leak.

Apple Hydraulics rebuilt my 39 LaSalle shocks in 2008 and they are working just fine and do not leak. They also responded to my phone calls and their work was done promptly. If my 1940 Ford needed the shocks rebuilt, I wouldn't hesitate to use them. Let's face it, our options are limited.
