I had just the opposite experience with Apple perhaps 12 years ago. They destroyed an authentic set (rare) of 39 shocks. DESTROYED.I had good results with Apple Hydraulics 1610 Middle Road Calverton N.Y. 11933 1-800-882-7753. They did shocks for me 10 years ago and they still work fine. No leaks. You might call to see if they will be in Hershey
John, IF M&S is still in business I would be both amazed and appalled. They made Apple look like well, they kind of knew what they were doing.I don't know if M&S is still in business, somewhere on the west coast, but you DO NOT want to send your shocks to them, and you DO NOT want to get their reproduction versions either. This is my opinion based on personal experiences with them, and also hearing and reading of others who had problems with them. With Bill Wzorek only accepting a minimum amount of shock rebuilding work, your next best source is probable Apple Hydraulics.
After just reading Mikes post about Apple, maybe he could send you a PM on who rebuilds his shocks now and/or send a PM to Bill Wzorek to see if he has someone he would recommend. Just a thought.
Nospartsman--Do you have any??NOS 1941-48 shocks are not too hard to find.
NOS 1941-48 shocks are not too hard to find.
So any ideas where to find them? Thanks
I am sure Carpenter has them (ask for Bob Jones) I have some, Southside Obsolete, Little Dearborn, anyone who deals in NOS Ford parts will have them. I can bring some to Hershey.
And just how good are the seals on a sixty year old shock? I'd rather rebuild what I have,
