since your tag is good till 2039............wow!
I would just have my father sign the car over to me and leave it tagged in his name.
its a model A not a million dollar home.
This is pretty much were I stand right now. My dad signed off the title and mailed it to me years ago. I've been driving it for years on his Ohio plate. I have the Ohio registration for the current plate plus registrations from the late 1980s before he got the antique tag.since your tag is good till 2039............wow!

Has anyone tried the body tags available from the venders? I changed toe engine in one of my A's several years ago so there is no number to match the paperwork and I'm thinking of mounting a body tag somewhere that would be somewhat visible. I'm not trying to commit fraud and I still have the block with the matching number.

This ^^^^^ You've got 17 years to renew the license. Why not just transfer it into your name in your dad's state - using his address? Best of both worlds - in your name and 17 years of registration paid.since your tag is good till 2039............wow!

Cops have access to a closely guarded book (I think put out by the FBI) on VIN locations and what they look like. It also has all the hidden locations with partial VINs that can be used to identify stolen cars and parts that have been used since the late 1960s.The inspectors will know ......showed me all the information about Model Ts he had on an I Phone.

The USA DOT has been setting up databases that can be shared between states for theft tracking. The states are slowly coming on board with sharing databases. The DUI database was mandated in 1996 so that folks escaping prosecution in one state would get docked a drivers license application or renewal in another state until they face the music. They want.their pound of flesh and theft deterance will eventually catch up to cars with a twin out there someplace.

Has anyone else been amazed/ baffled/ angered by the amount of money spent by all levels of gov't on the tracking and regulating of motor vehicles? Of all the necessary and good things that gov'ts do--and ought to do-- the obsession with motor vehicles seems misplaced.
