What’s the easiest way to remove rear hub grease seals?
Banging the drum on concrete can eventually work, but it can mess up the concrete and/or the drum. (It worked a few years back on a different Model A, but I don’t want to do this again.)
I tried drilling a hole in the seal to insert a screw (as someone suggested on this forum in the past), but that didn’t really work for me.
Today, I used a grease seal removal tool, but it was super hard to get the grease seal out. I eventually clawed away at it for almost an hour until I broke off enough small chunks of the seal and could get a screwdriver behind it and hit the screwdriver with a hammer.
Surely, there has to be a better way. [emoji1751]
I have one more to go on this car.
By the way, would the antiseize that I use on spark plugs be helpful for the next round of greasing the rear bearings?
