poll - split early V8 1932 - 53 in 2 or 3 groups

On page 27 of the V-8 Times July/August 2013, You'll find an article and a bar graph of the quantity of Ford V-8's by year. The article reveals that there are approximately 9,741 Pre-War vehicles and 4,926 Post-War flathead vehicles still on the road. If the article has some credibility, the ratio of Pre and Post War vehicles might explain the imbalance of posts of certain year vehicles.

I agree with everyone else......They're all flathead V8's.... However splitting the "swap meet" section, to me would be quicker to browse specifcally what you're looking for. Just having a section for cars/ parts cars separate from parts would help. It's like that on the HAMB. I know it was brought up recently but, while Im whining.... Why can we have a damn t-shirt...... Have you ever asked a question about a 52 / 53 on here that did not get a answer ??
Now on to important things like VAPOR LOCK

For that matter if you want just a certain year or subject it works on that too.

I'm a member of four international antique car clubs, I contribute to all of their forums because I have a car/truck (s) that are of their marque, therefore I have some knowledge, mechanical, etc., about their vehicles.
Most of the antique car clubs are structured in the same manner, they reputedly only cater to "the correct restoration, preservation of their particular brand of car. Certain members get all bent out of shape if any mention is made on a forum pertaining to the alteration of any portion of a given vehicle. The same attitude appears on the Barn from time to time.
One club that I belong to has a great award wining publication that comes out every other month. It also "had" a great international forum, covering just about any country you could name, North/South America, Europe, Middle East, Australia an New Zealand.
The traffic on the forum got so heavy, the speed was at a snail's pace. The Board of directors did not want to spend the money to get a faster, better server. People complained, nothing happened..
Then the Board announced that to save money they were going to phase out the club publication in favor of an on-line bulletin, and an on-line club, with membership dues, with the thought that they could embrace people that lived in small communities where local/regional groups did not exist.. That went over like a lead balloon.. A splinter group started another forum, where-in modifications/modified vehicles could be discussed..
As the traffic on the official club forum dwindled, the Board of Directors tried to modify the club requirements to include modified cars. The majority of the Board was "old school purists", however, they did bend enough to allow any vehicle that was thirty years old.. Hello, that opened the membership up to muscle cars of the '60's/70's.
Two years ago a new president and some new Board members opened a FaceBook account in lieu of buying a new server for the club forum.
Yes, the Facebook site is very active, more so than the club forum, however, the content is mostly of the social nature, like gossip over a neighbors fence.
The net result of this whole thing is that the official club forum will go for weeks with no contributions, the spinoff forum is very user friendly with multiple contributions every day.
The net result of changing things, i.e., fixing something that ain't broken, is that one has to be very careful as to how you go about it..

Hey BOB,
Thanks for the 'tip', as can use all the training that can get :) !

I take it that you vote for the site to remain as is. I'm with you and 99% of others. Yeah, let's complicate something just to stir the brown stuff !

Put me down for a very strong no way!
Works great as it is.
Thinking of a recent post on fitting an 8BA in a 40, poor bloke would have to post in two different areas and keep flicking to and fro, how would that be better?
Similar post turn up fairly regular.
Martin.

I hate to see a guy get ganged up on. 3 sections: 21 stud, 24 stud with front distributor, and Later model 8ba type with conventional distributor palcement might be a good Idea, but only for classifieds, as Mark suggested.
I am the poor bloke who would have had to post in two different sections for my 40 Ford/Late Merc swap. There is often a conglomeration of multi- year parts when building these classic old cars!
Always the instigator, how about an A-v/8 section as that early traditional build is really on the swing. OH I forgot, that stuff is for the hamb!

Jeez.......Give it a rest, and let's get back to our regularly-scheduled programming, along with some DUMB questions about '32-'53 flatheads! DD

Just a HINT:If you don't like the way things are on this board there other boards that you may wish to visit.

Spot on, we are Ryan's guests. The question in itself is a damned impertinence.

"Impertinence", now that's a great word for a spelling "Bee". I agree with the "leave well enough alone sentiment", but not with the "we are Ryan's guests". While we are grateful to Ryan and all the administrators, this forum could not continue to exist without the participation of it's posting contributors. It is a partnership, and a damn good one. Thank you Ryan etc. and thank you, all you posters, who contribute to the sustainment of our flatheads (32-53).

The OP has a valid request, IF this were a pure restoration only site...could be why he/she made the request, not knowing the Fordbarn does branch out?

Understandable request/question for one who may not frequent often.

I agree with the rest of you, but that's no reason to dump on the guy, he was just running a thought past you guys in here

I dumped on the guy because that was an expression of how I really felt. If I, and others, sugar coated our responses he might think he had a good idea that everyone liked and try to get it implemented. He could go to Ryan and say everyone thought it was a good idea.
