I have a model B with full flow oil filter all 4 mains are under
pressure on start up it pegs a 100 pound gage any way to
install pressure gage relief valve.??
TIA Jim

Might also post that question on the Model A forum of the Barn. I have no idea, but someone there (or here!) might.

Just for a happenstance a B motor guy is here also and to maybe kick it off. What type oil are you using.

The only thing I know about a B engine is the few discussions I have had with my brother restoring my grandfather's farm truck. But If that >100 psi is based on a real/reliable mechanical pressure gauge, I would not run that engine until the issue is resolved.

Has the engine and/or oil pump been worked on recently?

to pressurize a B motor they usually plug the front of the main oil galley that feeds to the timing gear, which was about 3/8, then drill a smaller orifice, about a 1/16 or so. stock pump will make 50 lbs at rpm like this, but you must have a better pump. one i did had a fresh pump with tight clearance and it made too much pressure, about 80 or so, and i drill the plugged orifice slightly bigger. you have a filter in line, but i would guess the front oil galley is reduced in order to see that much pressure. what has been done to the motor?
