Yes,and twice in front of my garage. One was an A roadster that the guy was having funky electrical problems crop up.He parked about 100 feet away from my garage, and we heard some weird snapping and hissing. Then a big bang. The battery had blown up.He had a cutoff switch mounted in the hot side on the firewall. The hot cable had the strands break away over time, and finally pulled out when he drove it here.He had shut it off when he got out of the car.The car didn't burn, but that loose cable kicked itself around trying to arc weld itself to anything it touched. On the same spot I saw a JD 40 crawler touch itself off from the same thing. The owner had made himself a nice bracket with the switch on it and bolted it to a protected spot under the edge of the hood.Too many times of churning that engine over with a low battery finally melted the plastic parts, and the hot cable dropped out of the switch. The steel fuel line was right under the switch, and the cable and the cable tried to weld itself to that steel line.It was off to the races after that.We just stood there and watched it burn. That 1/4 inch fuel line fed that fire until it just petered out.
