Every thing had been working properly until Thursday. No problems with clutching or shifting, no suspect noises. As I said, I have only put about 200 miles on it since the rebuild. When I last parked it in the garage everything was fine, went to start it two days later and the noise was there. After reading opinions from those who have chimed in, I have a theory. Probably not the throw out bearing, must be metal hitting metal. The last time I drove it was for about an hour, I assume that there would have been the usual operating heat in the bell housing, during the drive a bolt or bolts holding the pressure plate on the flywheel backed off a touch but because it was hot and there was some thermal expansion, there was no metal hitting metal. The car sat for two days and cooled down allowing contraction. Did a cold start and the PP was pushed back a tad when the throw bearing contacted the forks, PP now hitting a spot in the bell housing causing noise?
