It the only Ford I own at this time 48' 8N, but I am on the hunt for a pre-war coupe. It's also the most fun I can have at 4 miles per hour;)

I saw my first 8N Tractor at this years Central National Meet equipped with an
overdrive leaver located on the left side. Didn't know they made such a thing.

I got one of them. My loader is a little different but basically the same. Charles thats a underdrive lever and its quite usefull. lots of fun with these

The first tractor (first motor powered vehicle for that matter) I ever drove was a 56 Fordson Major. Down here in south Texas, there are always a few 9N/2N/8N tractors for sale. I still see a lot of NAA models and 600s for sale too. The UK built Fordsons are harder to find but they were damn good little tractors too.
 
I have one at my place in Texas, whish I had a bucket for it and also a post hole digger, but I need a new brush hog first, or at least a good used one. mine is just about shot. in fact if it gives me much more trouble I might shoot it. lol
 
I use my tractor quite often, it's a 1939 9N, serial number *9N-198* smooth hubs, snap in battery cover for the hood (I need One), aluminum dash, starter on the dash and a couple other oddities. great little tractors.

The Fergusons tractors always looked similar but had different engine manufactureres like Standard & Continental. There are a few of those for sale around here too. Harry should have had more than a handshake agreement with Henry. After Henry died in 1947, Harry's end of the deal was clouded over and caused a hell of a lawsuit. Ford just kept on selling little tractors and Harry was bought out by Massey/Harris. They were all good tractors in my book but neither had an adaptable hydraulic system. My pop traded his Fordson Major for a later Ford 5000 diesel just so he would have more hydraulic adaptability and a better PTO system plus more power. We used the hell out of that 5000. It could be used for a lot more jobs than the little ones and we had a lot more acerage that the little ones just couldn't handle.

Alexanders tractor supply in Winnsboro Tx. has one on display with the flathead six in it, at least it did last year when I was down there.
