Model B engine

I think we've established that the block is a B block. More the question is what about B parts which might contain a B serial number (I.e. above 5000000) As others have said, while American B engines were not normally marked above the water inlet, a flywheel housing, should it be "B" might yield a number, or a blank.

It is possible to mate a B block to an A flywheel housing/oil pan. Which would give us no clue at all.

short answer is yes, "B" block can be bolted to "A" housing.

the "A" pan would need to have rear radius enlarged to fit over "B" rear main cap.
or, the "B" pan have the lower flywheel housing removed.

have seen both, no two done the same, some better than others.

it depends on what you are trying to do, "B" motor with the "A" trans is quite common.

my '30 coupe has a "B" motor, "A" flywheel housing, adaptor to S10/T5 trans and open drive to Halibrand V8 (1935) quickchange rearend.
