Model a upgrade to 12 " brakes

checked out my 32 drums and shoes last night . drums are excellent cond . shoes are good but molded lining , should probably switch to woven and have them arc ground .

Sounds good.

Woven linings are soft and will give you better brakes than currently available hard molded linings.

I saw the job Chris did on WN's roadster. Surprising how straight forward the replacement is and the appearance is so much like the 11" Model A that they are nearly undetectable.
The drums are so common because they have no use in a hydraulic conversion. Narrower shoes than the '35 on, they can be very cheap. When a '32 restoring friend bought a brake lathe, I bought many for his practice. Because I always carry brake mike, the friend has the best that is out there.

Hello, I also have 12 inch cast drums in front, are the 7. 3/4 inch operating pins available?
Though bout tryin to make some.. any feed back would be great.
Thx

Classic examples of "If it ain't broke, fix it till it is.."

Nothing better than a Model A that's been restored to original specifications..

I used a couple of chevy pushrods that were the correct length. Because my brakes came
with out them and I couldn't find a supplier that carried the brake operating pins or rods.
