lincoln oil pump

I have a Lincoln pump some where, And I thought the mounting flange was in a different place. Guess the old brain in this 84 year ol guy is working very well

Ron the 337 pump mounting flange is clocked a few degrees different than the V8 pump.
As you said, requires drilling & tapping a new 5/16" hole.

The original V-12 pump is very similar to the M-15 Melling and has a internal gear length nearly the same as the 337 pump and noticeably larger than the 8BA or M-19 so the stock V-12 pump is considered "high volume" simply because IT IS.

I'll stand corrected.
Must be that the old V12s I've seen in days long ago had V8 pumps in them.

Maybe we could get Ken/Alabama to post a photo of a stock V12 pump with a V8 pump to refresh my worn out old brain.

Read the parts books carefully before choosing a V-12 pump! I took a look last night, as the only V-12 pump I have personally looked into did not look like much. There were about 4 pumps for the H motors from '36-1948... Dig through the parts chart and you will see that the earlier ones used the same gears that flatheads used in their first several year, actually the same size gears used in Model A. I did not take the time to digest the tangle of parts info, but I think only the 1946 up ones are going to differ from early V8, which could only be described as adequate.

edit:
(56H part number, meaning postwar V12, is presumably the one thought of as high capacity. Earlier ones are Ford based, only the 56H contains gears with Lincoln rather than Ford numbers)

I don't have a stock V12 pump on hand. I'm running the M15 in my V12

Some oil pump trivia.
The original Melling high volume oil pump for the flathead Ford V-8 was the M-21 the current production Melling high volume pump is the M-15. Until the M-15 was put into production by Melling originally as a one time only promotion for their anniversary back in the 80's I along with a number of others would search out the rare M-21 pump in old race engines. Heck I still have a good stash of those M-21 pumps. Never found any Lincoln V-12 pumps but I was also looking for them.
The M-15 was such a good seller the one time only run of pumps became a regular item in the melling pump line.
