Here's some info from my Lincoln Zephyr chassis Parts List. The oil pump assembly part number listed for the V-12 is: 86H-6600 for 86H & 96H. these are Lincoln part numbers, don't know what the Melling part # or cross reference # (if any) could be. I don't believe the same pump was used in the 337 c.i. V8's from '49 - '51. Hope this helps.

The V12 Lincoln pump is totally different than the Ford early or late pump as well as the 337 pump. However back in the 40's and early 50's it was used in many of modified flatheads, no modification necessary, just drill and tap a new hole. also the oil pan needed a bump.

I've used the M-19 on a few rebuilds and a couple M-15 pumps. I also convert the valve train to use the Ford adjustable lifters in place of the hydraulics.

Yes, you will also need the pickup tube and screen and might need to modify the baffle in the oil pan. Earle Brown has the pumps and pickup tubes.

I've been watching this with interest. You'd think as an owner of a Lincoln V-12 this would be something I'd know. Sadly the only thing I can say for certain is that if the gasket to the filter housing isn't seated properly, that oil pump will put a surprising amount of oil onto the floor of your garage in no-time flat.

i found a melling m-19 on my shelf it looks just like the v-12 pump and fit right in.i talked o reillys down to 225.00 for the high volume m -15 pump.i know ill need a differant pick up but earle brown has those.thearly lincon pumps were differant but i think they all fit.thanks for your knowlege.

I have had only a few encounters with the V 12's. One was a friend asked
if I would look and see why it lost oil pressure over time as it got hot.
Lifters sounded like a piano as the pressure got lower. I even took the
pan off and put oil under pressure in through the pressure gauge port. I
suspected loose bearings or worn cam bushings but got no big shower of
oil from either. Took the oil pump off and built a test fixture driving the
pump with a 1/2" drill. Pumps run in the direction of drilling a hole. With
a gauge it had good pressure but as I restricted the output the pressure
slowly dropped and lost pressure. This took a little time for the drop to
almost a complete lose. It turned out it was the oil bypass valve spring
was weak just like what happens to the bypass spring in the front of the
valve valley in the Fords. I put a shim made out of 1/8" pipe on the spring
and adjusted the length until I had 55 lbs pressure. Car was driven on a
number of long tours and pressure remained good. I also found 2 sets of
Ford pan gaskets could replace the Lincoln gasket. Cut so the front and
back ends of the gaskets were longer with a "V" splice in the middle they
did the job. G.M.

Back to oil pumps.
This is a comparison of a M19 Melling & a 337 Lincoln std oil pump. As you can see the 337 pump has a longer gear case & increased volume.
The 337 pump requires some massaging to work in the V8s.
I have used more 337 pumps than the M15 pumps. Mainly because they were available after Melling ceased production of the M15 in the '70s. I don't have a M15 loose for comparison.
I fail to see why any stock V12 pump would be considered high volume.
