led light question

id say no, LED's are polarity sensitive and need to see relatively close to what thier rated for voltage wise. i think they sell a 6v pos ground led taillight replacement if thats what your wondering.

I know a 12v led will work on a 6v system as I have done it before, but that was on a negative ground. As for the positive ground, if it's a simple single wire circuit (like running a single filament bulb) then I don't see why you can't hook it up normally, the led won't know which wire is attached to the frame....a circuit is a circuit...but maybe someone else can chime in on this part of it....if that doesn't work, try reversing the wires, I think the led's you get these days have reverse polarity protection so it shouldn't bother them, or you could just buy the proper 6v posative ground led drop in that is designed for these trucks...lol

leds operate at lower voltage and could work on 6v positive ground but you do have to follow polarity. for example a headlight bulb wouldn't work as it grounds to its base. i have my car set up currently 12v postive ground. i got a cheap pair of led bulbs and not thinking of the polarity put one in. a little burning smell and no light. the bulb still worked in the proper polarity so i put them in my modern cars glovebox.
