Thanks Ol' Ron

"the wide flat is not for the street, it what we call WOT ( wide open throttle )...longer duration, low torque, not good off the line, good for the straight-a-way .....the lobe with the point is quick open and close, and is in close timing with the other lobes, also the ramp down, from the point is also in play, fast for valve closing....good for the street... "

The pointy lobe is USUALLY a street grind but not always. They have a lower rate of lift. (valves open and close slower)
A square top lobe will generally have a higher rate of lift but does not necessarily mean it is a race cam. Many square toe cams have been designed for the street.
"Cheater" cams which were popular with short track racers in the 50's and 60's
would idle like stock and check ok on legal lift but had a VERY wide toe to gain duration and lift rate. They made excellent street cams for mostly stock engines.

I can not wait for my new L100 cam. Hope next couple of weeks I can get you a core. Glad that we were able to meet a the Charlotte swap meet. Tony you are one nicest guy I have every meet in the hobby. I enjoy setting down talking to you about old cars and our friends. I wish Ken could have been there. I love your Winters trim on your car. Hope one day I get same treatment to my 1936 Ford.

One more thing how did your wife like her new ****.

Hey Willy, your starting to scare me. All you have spoke about since Charlotte is wishing you had purchased a ****. Something you need to share???? :)

I have number 15 KiWi L-100 cam. I can not wait to hear that "rumpety-rump" :)

G'Day Hannu , glad it arrived safe n sound !!!
Actually you have KiWi-L100 cam #025 the way I engraved the #2 kinda looks like a 1.

25 KiWi-L100 cams ground & shipped to 6 different countries in 6 months is way more than I expected !!! The number of inquiries for KiWI-L100 cams is probably 6 times what we have already shipped so I guess I can be ready to grind many more in 2015.
Thanks to all for the tremendous support !!!!!
Cheers
Tony

Great looking and sounding engine but one little tip - all the cams I have had made by Newmans, Pipers and others in the UK have come with an instruction that for the first 20 minutes they must be run at a minimum of 2000 rpm to properly break in the lobes. And followers and avoid scuffing.

Dont worry. It's done before this video.

Great. I always find it stressful with a whole new engine with a stack of new one off parts - the cam guy wants a long fast first run - all I want to do is ease it back and check for leaks, rattles, temperatures and adjust carbs and timing. Much easier with a test rig like yours, my current work in progress is all wrapped up in a streamlined 1939 race body and it still hasn't run.
