The fact that you wanted the truck shows an interest. You are in for a fun time. You are going to meet some interesting people. Bruce had some good advice "Join a Model A Chapter or Region. Go to the meetings. Listen. Listen. Listen." You can tell by all the responses that this is a good place to ask questions and listen (read).
My advice is to invest in a good digital camera. Take pictures of the truck as it is and as you take it apart. Once you start disassembly, tag and label everything. It may be months before you return to that area of the truck, and it is hard to remember which way all those parts, nuts and bolts went.
Make a list of the parts you need, take it with you to the swap meets, and take someone with experience with you. The price of a lunch will save you a lot time and money.
Finally, If you have to buy parts - buy only the parts you need to complete the current project (If you are working on the carburetor - buy only the parts you need to complete the restoration of the carburetor). I mention this because, I found that over the course time I purchased the same parts several time. I either forgot that I purchased them or forgot where I put them.
You are going to learn a lot - have fun, Bill
