gap between body and frame.

Is it normal to have such a big difference between the front of the body and the rear? I ask this because on the front there is no gap and on the rear part ( in front of rear fender) it looks like about a inch gap. Could this be why my hood has a large gap at the bottom?

Too many issues, ....most notably the frame is sagging. If the front of the cowl goes up any higher to help with the hood alignment, then look at the gap that will be between the lower edge of the hood and the fender. I'd venture a guess the hood clips (latches) are almost fully extended now when latched to the hood.

Why is the rear shimmed? up so high?? Seems to me if the rear was lower it would help with the hood gap without raising the hood lower edge.

I don't know why they raised the rear so high. This is the way that i bought it. I don't see how i could lower the rear and still have the rear fenders line up with the running boards.

Yes in deed, lots of issues. How can you tell that the frame is sagging? Would that be why the body is angled down hill instead of leveled?

Home made Body Blocks and pads maybe???

It will be a hassel but if it really bothers you and it can not be figured out by just looking at it, you can start by removing the body and checking things out...Like you say, there are to many issues but it has to be delt with sometime I guess...either that or live with the issues and drive it and have fun!

How about a photo of the back half?

Is there another car of your type in your area to compair with?

Might want to ask the previous owner just what he did!!!

Those headers gave the engine so much torque that it bent the frame at the rear motor mounts. :D

Actually that is the common place for the frame to sag, and as Brent said I'd bet you have sag there. As Pluck said, we need to see more of the body, like the rear of the splash apron and door gaps.

Re your rear fenders, look under and check if the DPO has drilled extra or elongated the fender holes to suit .

I'm glad you posted this. I'm having the same issue. Almost no gap in front and a good inch to inch in a half out back. What I did notice on mine is a gap from the rear fender to body where the welting would normally go. I'm planning on removing all fenders and checking wood blocks. I'm curious if there's any deterioration in the front wood blocks or some home made blocks out back.

There should NOT be any body blocks to deteriorate under the #1 (cowl) body bolt on the 30/31.

Would a straight edge on the bottom of the frame tell if frame is sagging?
I think you could use a 4 ft level and snake it in to check frame before removing body

are there any shims in the very front of the cowl area the 2 cowl bolts to frame just behind the hood? the suppliers sell these for it
