Front hub quick question

In re-doing the front right brakes I noticed that the drum rotates easily until it reaches 12 o'clock, has to have pressure exerted to it reaches 5 past 12 and then spins freely to the 12 o'clock position again. Either direction of rotation gives the same result. I have used a drum centreing device and that indicates all correct. What is the most likely cause? Is there still enough of a variation in the brake drums to cause the sticking? Or should I get the drum checked for trueness?

Many thanks

In the Red Book it mentions that you may have a spot or two that catch slightly and not to worry.
Your drum may be warped slightly causing the drag. how much drag do you have?

With the wheel off, I need both hands to move past the sticking point - obviously with the wheel on less force/pressure would be needed.

Oh ok thats a good bit of force. Just to be sure, it spins freely with the brake shoes backed off?

I Just redid my brakes and had some issues, I found a piece of leaf or something got in one bearing I didnt notice on assembly!

Have you tried working the brake by hand and seeing if anything changes? I had one that would be fine until I applied the brake a couple times then it would hang but then it get free again. It was the left front, I found that actuating wedge was hanging up sometimes and also that my actuating rod that goes through the kingpin was too long and the wedge wasn't returning fully.

Are the ends of the friction material chamfered ?

Does it make a difference when adjusting the wedge higher or lesser ?

As mentioned, work the brake pedal several times after each adjustment.
