front engine mount replacement

The questions are related to a unmodified '31 sedan. I rebuilt the engine 30+ yrs. ago. My recollection is that with the help of the local "A guy" we used two hard rubber grommets on either side of the chassis member instead of the standard springs and plate. These had holes in them and were mounted on the block yoke stud. The upper one between the yoke and chassis went south so the whole engine has settled and the crank wont fit into the radiator hole and then into the fan pulley. No other problems yet!. I loosened the mount yoke but there is not enough room to remove it. Is it possible to remove the fan pulley without having to replace the front seal? Any reasonable way with as little major work to replace this mount?? Help!!! Bruce

Is it one of these front mounts?

I was able to install mine by loosening the rear motor mounts and jacking up the engine. If you have original rear mounts it would probably be better to remove the bottom mount-to-flywheel housing bolt on both sides. I had float-a-motor mounts.

It was tight.

If you have a two piece front pulley you should be able to remove the pulley and leave the rest installed and not disturb the front seal.

To remove/replace a one piece front pulley I had to remove the radiator and crank guide....

Do you have pictures?

I have an image----sent you an email thanks Bruce

Here is the picture Bruce sent.

Looks like an original style mount.

I'm not sure what parts need changing
