thanks everyone i checked out the kit that jeff sent me info on it was $895 dollars compared to the flat-o-matic at $500 dollars I'm still undecieded on which one i want. I don't know if a specific flywheel has to used or what. But I thank you guys for the info.
Go to the flat-o-matic website and read the instructions and you will see the difference between the two kits, the flat-o-matic requires some welding on the converter and you must get a big block FE starter also which is why it is cheaper, the $895 kit is all bolt on no modifications or welding needed and a Hi-Torque mini-starter is included.thanks everyone i checked out the kit that jeff sent me info on it was $895 dollars compared to the flat-o-matic at $500 dollars I'm still undecieded on which one i want. Thanks for the links, I will ck them out. very nice looking eng, I am thinking of using one of the dipstick tubes and sticks. is the dipstick tube you are using the push in type with the "o" rings, or is it the one with a nut that is installed from inside th trans pan? I know the picture in your link shows the push in , but they do not always use the correct picture. the reason I ask is there is no kick down on my 30 coupe ( not even a kick down sw. ) only linkage for the lokar shifter. ( installed by the previous owner ) also the dip stick tube does not fit correctly and does noes not sit down far enough into the case to seal correctly and it leaks. I hate that. it is kind of embarrassing.
