Engine Stand Adapter

I am going to spend pennies instead of $90+ for an engine stand adapter for the Model A engine.

I have gone thru the achieves and found many pictures illustrating many variations of the adapter that bolts to the water inlet with pins thru two of the oil pan holes.

The pictures give me many ideas to choose from, but there are no dimensions. I am especially interested in the dimension where the pipe is offset to compensate for weight when the flywheel and housing are mounted.

Does anyone have a drawing with dimensions? While I can measure the dimensions for the bolts and pins placement; I would like the offset dimension.

Thanks

Just a possible option if you wanna spend $0.00 I used my engine stand in the traditional manner when rebuilding my flathead. Just used grade8 bolts on the bell housing mounting area. It may be easier to work with if its mounted sideways but I didn't want to spend the money either and painting the block was super easy.

I made a 2 piece adapter from angle iron and played with spacers and different orientations of the stand arms to use the side block mounting points.

How about lay the complete engine on its side on say a cinder block etc. and where it balances there's your offset? Just a thought.

Thanks for the replies; I have thought of each of your answers, and when I get to the point of building the adaptor, I will probably decide and design by experimentation.

I just thought someone would measure and existing adaptor, or have a drawing handy.
