CB, I like how low it sits, my 55 sits like that with tires! My 56 I cut the rear pan back and added a smooth 55 rear bumper. Had to make my bumper brackets. I see you have plates on the car. I didn't realize that area was different for the 56. I did not fill the lower quarter, just will bring the exhaust out under the bumper. Have not none that yet, hope it will look alright.
Do you know the offset on the wheels you are using?

I've got 17x8 on the rear with a 4-3/4 back space and 16x7 on the front with a 4" back space.

CB, thanks for the sizes. I have 15" Americans that I wanted to put on mine but they rub the quarters.

No skirts for me and no being chased by a spare tire in the rear view mirror!

I can attest to the fact that the market for early Birds (55-57) is quite soft. I have a very nice '57 which I have owned since '73, I bought it for my wife as a Christmas present in Nov. 73.
After my wife passed away I decided to sell the car.. My wife loved the car so I always kept it in top condition for her to drive.. To my knowledge it has always been a California car.. I completely rebuilt the car in '82 because the engine developed a knock.
I have had the car listed for $34,k for almost a year, have not had a serious offer on the car yet. Women love the car, their husband' are always cool to the whole idea, just soothing their wives desires, wanting then to have a Camero or a Mustang..
Big complaint against the Birds, no leg room for a man and not fast enough..
Most people are not aware of the fact that the '55-57 Birds are not performance cars, they were intended by Ford to be personal luxury cars..
