On my tudor it is mounted under the front seat, out of sight but readily accessable.

Under the driver's seat on the riser has worked great for me and I always turn it on or off as I get into or out of the car. Very handy and I don't have to open the hood. It's on my '30 coupe. The 3rd photo shows the weather strip loose at the bottom of the door opening. That is not a wire.
This may not be the "best" place but it's an idea.
I used a switch from one of the vendors along with the switch mount that bolts to the bottom starter mount bolt.
The cable in the foreground routes from the switch to the upper starter mount bolt.
I bought a long positive cable from a local parts store and it routes from the positive battery post to the switch.
The switch breaks the circuit between the positive battery post and the frame.
Sometimes I forget to turn it on so I have to climb out again..but I like it....
Be careful of the green knob style as we have had some bad ones that failed![]()
Where is the best place?
I just installed a "green knob" battery cut off directly on the battery. A tight fit but it worked. It was installed on the positive side and had to drill the bolt hole larger to accommodate the larger terminal.
