Continuing Diff rebuild-new question

Can confirm the welding a bead on the bearing race - did it in my AA rearend and came out easy as could be after that.

Yep, it works great.

I've also used welding to remove dry sleeves in diesel engines. Three long beads up and down the length of the cylinder is usually enough to make them easy to tap out.
