Clutch Adjustment Question

I have adjusted the clutch lever/yoke on this 1935 Ford trany as far as it can be done. But the clutch does not fully disengage the pressure plate with the clutch fully depressed. There is a cover on the trany above the gear shift lever that exposes the pressure plate adjustments. How do I go about adjusting these???

thanks,

Chuck

The pressure plate lever bolts are not part of the clutch release adjustment. They are not meant to be changed after the clutch is installed. You might have a worn clutch release shaft and bushings in the bottom front of the trans. I've seen some pretty grooved release shafts in the bushing area. I find it amazing how the hardened steel shaft wears more than the brass bushing.

Okay, I don't know what I did, but put it all together and now the clutch disengages?? So I can shift and drive it around. I don't doubt things are worn. This trany is a 1935 and much like me; worn out and tired of working !!!!

Thanks.

Chuck

I believe it is an inspection plate. I know it comes in handy to center trans when installing it and you can use it to adjust throwout bearing to fork clearance.

Some of the throwout bearing sleeves had a grease fitting on it and you could grease it through that opening. marv
