Good day folks,
I have an after market AirMaze filter with the metal mesh canister. Curious as to what folks use to clean it and if there is anything I need to do to it?
Thanks
Scott
The potential downside of using a paper filter is that if you ever leak fuel into the carb throat, now you have a gasoline-impregnated sponge just waiting for a spark to ignite it. I don't have sufficient confidence in my float valve, and in myself to always remember to turn off the fuel, to risk that. YMMV.I toss the screen and get a real filter.

Mine doesn't either - right now. Future? Who knows, not something I want to discover the hard way.I guess I'm fortunate my carbs don't leak...![]()

Yeah, this guy in Germany had the same AirMaze set up you do, but with a leaky carb. He went to start it (after being parked a week in his garage) ....and boom:

I'm smart enough to shut off my gas when parked.Henry put that valve there for a reason.
