Checking oil pressure and installing gauge

Hey guys,

I'm wanting to check the oil pressure on my '52 flathead, and I see there are two senders or a sender and a switch at the back of the block on the driver's side. There's a single wire sensor mounted in the vertical position, and a 2 wire switch? mounted in the horizontal position. Can anybody confirm for me that they are a sender and a switch? And where would I install my own oil pressure sensor so I can check this thing? Are the ports 1/8" NPT or 1/4", or other?

Also, what is a reasonable oil pressure to be looking for hot or cold?

Thanks all.

I am sure the one wire sender goes to the dash oil gauge. Looks like the two wire is a
switch. I have seen that on many buses / trucks / industrial stuff that when pressure gets to a dangerous or no pressure it cuts power to the coil. Then I have seen this wired to a electric fuel pump > turn key on pump pump when engine starts oil pressure comes up and pump turns
off. The only way is to track those two wires. common on diesels to prime fuel system like when it ran out of fuel. still think it goes to the coil ? good oil pressure on dash gauge should be middle '30 or above' maybe 20 hot idle healthy engine..sam
