Car leaning to the left

I know there have been several messages on fixing a car that has a lean to it. It seems like most say to reverse the rear spring. I did just that yesterday and the lean is as bad or worse in the same direction as before reversing it. The spring is an original spring I dismantled, sandblasted, applied Slip Plate, reassembled and painted. I am sure the spring retaining bolt is in the square hole in the rear crossmember, I don't believe the frame is bent or warped. I am at a dead-end as to want to do to fix the approximate 1" to 1 1/4" lean to the drivers side (measured from the outside of the bumperettes to the floor). Does anyone have a method that might fix the lean? BTW, the front spring is new, so I don't see how that could contribute to the lean, besides the front looks OK.

Bill,

The shocks and brake rods are disconnected....

Rusty,

What are the shackle angles...are the both the same? Are the free?
Did you put the splash shield on the front yet (below the shell)?

Dudley,
I installed the radiator splash apron a long time ago. It want on easily, which surprised me. I will check the shackle angle, but I know they are free and have grease all over them.

Well, that just changed my plan - I was blaming my "lean" on a weak front spring
Mine was also disassembled,(front and rear) sandblasted, painted, new bushings, new shackles, shocks - I've already tried loosening and re-clamping the u-bolts (front and rear), It leans to the driver's side about 1-1/2".
You can stand on the passenger side running board and 'bounce' once, and it levels right out - until you drive it again.
My son gives me grief about it, and I just tell him Ford designed this on purpose to 'compensate' for the crown in the road /;)

I was just about to order a new front spring as a winter project, I guess I'll save the money instead.

At least he didn't tell you to go on a diet:D:D

When you put a level across the frame, does it show out of level? Maybe your bumperettes are bent or different sizes????
