Barnfind!?

Today i picked up a new projekt. A 46 Super Deluxe coupe
Its not a real barnfind, but it has been worked on since 1989, and passed some owners,
Now its my chance to get i rolling again
I have quite a lot of leftover parts since my 42 Coupe project, so it shouldnt be so big problem to get it running.

Nice, solid coupe to start with, you have there.

Keep us posted with the progress. I love seeing the old Fords get new life breathed into them.

Henrik had to open up a couple of holes to fix the floor board mounts.

The extra trunk floor neede some attention before we could mount it.

Another reality check now with original 6,00x16 wheels.

Lets see if we will do some more work on the VW theme, a boxer engine will fit nice in the rear now. But i guess it could be some trouble to connect the rear axle ;-)

Another week gone
We made some adjusting tool to get the trunk floor at the right height,to the body

03.jpg

The floor was spotwelded first.
04.jpg

Mr 42,
Keep those photos coming....very reminiscent of a project
car my son and built to haul him back and forth to college....the years
fly by....that was 31 years ago and it seems like yesterday.

Wow, very cool.

A guy had one for sale at Hershey in the Orange field. It rolled by with a nice sounding flathead. We all thought what a cool daily driver that car would make.

I really admire your work ethic and passion. Wish I had half as much enthusiasm these days.

Not so much action in the garage last weekend, On Sunday I went over to Norrköping to meet my friends fro a cup of coffe and look at some pics from L.A.R.S 2009. It was 0 degrees Celcius going home in the dark, i guess its autum now.

I took of to Norrköping, and let my son do the welding ;-)

118" wheelbase 41 - 48 mercury front engine mounts. they used these instead of the crossmember because the crossmember was shoved ahead for the longer wheelbase since mercs used a ford frame.

Mr 42 father son work good together your project is a big one, but with that kind of enthusiasm you will get it done, the weather there would be a factor for most of us. Harold central coast Ca.

Hi Lars.
I am enjoying checking the progress on the coupe - it's coming along great.
(Tell Henrik to use a mask, though, will ya?)
Mart.

looking good, like the mock up height, you gonna keep it that low? Be interesting to see what you do with the suspension. Pancaked my rear crossmember 4 inches, dropped beam and a lower front spring, and it still aint that low, but I do have a few inches betwwen the rails and axle :) I dont want to get into c notching the rear, but I will have to if I want it lower. Is that what you're gonna do?
