Found my vacuum leak! There is a small leak in the plug for the idle mixture adjustment hidden passage. previous owner had drilled it out and installed a new brass plug but it isn't air tight. What is the best way to fix this?

Just put on new manifold gaskets. You probably have a leak.

Not being totally familiar with the drilled out plug you reference but JB Weld comes to mind or you could remove the brass plug and coat the threads with a fuel proof thread sealant.
