Authentic trunks offered. Where???

As I noted, the options are pretty limited for ready to go trunks, so go for whatever works best!

31 Model A, I sent you an email.

John F
Sorry about that John. I've emailed you back. I don't check that email address very often. All my lady friends know my Hotmail email and I check that every 30 minutes..................... :D

I thought I would add to your thread regarding the trunk rack. Here are a couple of photos from an original car that I just bought.

I can't seem to find anywhere on the Tres Burros Garage site their hours of operation. Does anyone know their hours or what is the normal hours native Californians go to work???? or see the hours on their site, very possible I missed that being deaf and dumb in both eyes!!!!

Thanks..........

Edonis

Take a walk thru Hershey or Carlisle and you will be amazed at hiow many Model A trunks are available. Not plentiful but not scarce! Wayne

This is an original trunk that is shown in the judging standards.
Mounted on the standard black trunk rack.

You are absolutely right ! That is the one shown in the Judging Standards for the earlier, folding luggage rack. I have one, too. Just like yours.

After all these years it still surprises me that nobody makes an era looking trunk. I'm sure it would cost a few dollars more to do it right but not that much. I made one identical to the first pic (but minus the straps) when I was 18 years old so obviously it's no too tough if you've seen an original.

Marco,....what can you tell me about the car in the second photo. It looks like a E-28 judging by the hub caps and correct bumper clamps.
The bumper is interesting..

I'm interested in a trunk for my 32 B. Does anyone know the approximate weight of an average trunk empty?
Thanks
Jim

Just got off the phone with Bill and I learned something, which when it comes to As, it's almost everyday.

I was under the impression that, the trunks today fit down inside the rack and that's wrong, they strap to the top of the rack on top of the wood slats, the ones that did have slats. And, when explained, it's all common sense really. How you see them usually with the wood slats facing outward is for show. I'm sure most of you knew that but I've not been around since Christ was a corporal like you have and I'm still learning the ways of Henry Ford. :D

Bill has a waiting list, working on two right now, one is going to some sultan in Dubai. I should have mine by end of April. He doesn't take plastic, MO or check is his way.

Cheers

You were correct and he was not. It sounds like he knows nothing (or little) about Model A's. Based on that, be certain that his final dimension allows it to fit IN the rack as required.

It's worth noting that the original deluxe racks did not use real wood for the slats. They were woodgrain finished steel which would be silly to hide or use in a manner that would soon destroy the finish.
