Ed, here's one thought on "lookers" they will generally always get the bids going. It's just that they drop out early as they won't spend any money or give the true worth of something. Therefore other than the time it takes for a worker to register them and print their number on a card, what is the auction company losing by having them attend?
As far as these cars bringing fair market value, my initial thoughts are there are too many cars being offered at once. With two speedsters that are very similar being offered within minutes apart, in all likelihood there will be two bidders there that really want one. If there is one car, then the price would soar as they bid against one another. The same applies with the Roadsters as there are three to choose from. If someone just wants to buy a Model A for pleasure (maybe a typical grandpa), there are 4 open cars (not counting the speedsters) and two closed cars. Granted there will probably be some dealers there looking to purchase for inventory but they cannot give top dollar and have any room for profit. That is why I feel there are too many cars being sold at once. Maybe I am wrong??
