Argumentive Aspects

It’s just a driver.
At a seminar you are told that you have to have xxxx modern “ improvement “so your car will be reliable ( and he also sell it).
How did people in the 30s go touring without a “touring “engine.

Air filters, mechanical brakes, 6 volt battery, detergent/non-detergent oil, oil filters, head gaskets, babbitt vs inserts, that should be enough for now. :)

Good list!

If we all agreed on everything, it would be a boring 🌎.

I hope everyone, including the members that disagree with me, has a great holiday season.

Best regards,

Bill

I would argue that the Model A has a lousy single wire electrical system, a water pump in the wrong part of the cooling system, wheels that are much too narrow, transverse buggy springs and bodies that are too narrow. Otherwise the Model A is a fantastic design. I love mine!

whitewalls or blackwalls.

if you said whitewalls YOU ARE WRONG!

LOL

Lol, I tried for years to get my dad to put whitewalls on his 28. His reply? "They didn't come with no d*** whitewalls". He's probably spinning right now but it has whitewalls....

My "hot buttons" of contention not already mentioned?
* Original steering boxes versus F-100 conversion
* Original transmissions versus modern synchro conversions
* Original points ignition system versus E.I.
* Original shock absorbers versus modern tubular shocks
* Original headlight bulb conversion to Quartz
* Zenith carb versus Tillotson and a million similar flavors
* Original trunk area conversion to rumble seat in seemingly every Coupe and Roadster
* Original Model A's Plain-Jane appearance versus slapping every chrome "goodie" available on the poor car to disguise a poor mechanical "restoration". I've seen FAR too many of those NOT to include that on my list!!!

"Bah! Humbug!" Marshall

Lot of good material here! I lean towards original in just about every case, but you didn't ask my opinion. :)
Merry Christmas!!

I prefer the phrasing "differing opinions".

I guess I think people can disagree, and still be police, and friends. I know that is not the climate in the USA these days, but a guy can hope.

Another great list.

Enjoy

Marshall - you thinking of my ‘31?

The recent post on the stock market vs Model A appreciation left an opening the size of a double garage door. I read the original WSJ story and something got lost in the translation. Even though I took a beating on my post, I stand by it.
