Argumentive Aspects

this thread......
23 year old engineer invested in a 1931 Ford Model A instead of stocks. And WON!

"None of these offerings are valid. What in the world are you thinking!!!!!!!!"

I'm guessing by the number of exclamation points at the end of this sentence, that the poster is saying this with tongue in cheek. If not, however, may I point out that EVERY example of contention posted so far has suffered drawn-out, sometimes years-long arguments on this website and on the original "Ahooga" site, sometimes ad nauseum. These topics draw battlelines quickly with strong adherents on both sides of the issue. I think the posts in this thread have addressed the original question if I understand it correctly: What Model A topics cause the most debate/controversy, not what's wrong with the Model A's design. That discussion is going on in another thread at the moment. I wonder which list would be longer? :)

None of them are "Argumentive Aspects" - all are the individual's personal preferences.

I'm very happy with my mostly '31 roadster with:
-12v electrical system w/ alternator (looks like a generator/cut-out)
-electronic ignition w/ automatic centrifugal advance (looks stock)
-LED lighting
-high compression head and insert bearings
-4sp syncro trans (includes overdrive)
-modern tube shocks
-1935 16" wire wheels with modern radials
-1948 hydraulic brakes
-rumble seat

Looks mostly like a '31 (except to the experts) and still gives the enjoyment, challenges and pride of maintaining and driving, while promoting the hobby.

Merry Christmas!

People who like to argue tend to hang out on web forums.

It used to be on this forum that people who actually had first-hand knowledge AND information learned from their personal experiences actually answered giving others advice. This practice was as a courtesy so as not to mislead someone which could cost them precious time and/or money. So when someone came along giving inaccurate advice (-often blatantly inaccurate!), they were quickly (-and deservedly) called-out for it. Maybe this is where you are suggesting arguing on web forums??

I has been my observations (-especially on forms of Social Media) that it apparently is ok to bold-face lie about something, and then continue to utter mistruth after mistruth defending their statement if someone challenges the validity of their comments. Hell, some of the Facebook Page Administrators are the worst for it!! Again, it used to be there was integrity involved when someone posted something. I guess to some, that 9th commandment really doesn't apply to them in this day & time when posting misleading, incorrect, or plagiarized information on WebForums, Facebook Pages, Instagram, YouTube, et/al. Kinda sad...........

I love chopped channeled Model As with Chevy engines........

OK how long a ban did that statement earn me?

This one I do struggle with. I love old hot rods. They're what made me like cars.
But I love my stock coupe and it hurts to see good examples of stock cars cut up.

I think it's fair to say anything thats a hot rod at this point should stay that way. And anything thats stock should stay that way. But I'm wrong to some people and right to others.

Most real Hot Rods had souped up Ford Flathead V8s before those flimsey overhead valve V8s came along!!! The Fullrace Flathead in my avitar is a good example!!!
