AA/BB 4-speed transmission question...

Can someone tell me what I need to mount a 4-speed AA/BB truck bellhousing behind my model B four cylinder? My stock model A flywheel cover does not match up to the bellhousing so I'm assuming I need a different flywheel cover???? Does anyone have a picture of what I'm looking for and is it specific to the truck? Thanks.

If I remember right you have to cut off the flywheel portion of the pan and discard the Model B upper flywheel housing and put on a Model A flywheel housing. Rod

I guess I should explain a little more about what I'm working with. My model A came with a diamond block B engine. The stock model A transmission was still there so the back of the pan was cut off to mount to the stock flywheel cover. I am going to run a T5 behind that model B engine and have a Dwight Bond adapter that bolts to an AA/BB 4 speed bellhousing, which I also have. I just got me engine back from Antique Auto Ranch and started looking at stuff and the flywheel cover is no where close to matching up with the bellhousing. The 4 speed bellhousing I have is out of a friends '32 BB truck so is there a difference between the AA and BB flywheel cover?? His truck had a B motor in it in front of this bellhousing but the flywheel cover is gone. I'm cornfused.

Ok, that makes sense. Thanks for the help. So anyone have an upper B flywheel housing cover and B oil pan they want to sell or maybe an AA bellhoushing?? :)

All of the AA bell housings I have left have a chipped bolt hole in one place ot another. Not likely to cause a problem of you use a flat washer on that bolt, but does not look the best from under the car. Rod

So if I find a B flywheel housing and oilpan will I be able to use my newly machined/lightened model A flywheel or will I need a B flywheel? I'm just trying to figure out which way is going to be easier on my wallet.....

I have the bottom section of a B pan that I removed by drilling out the spot welds so, it is intact and could be welded to an A pan. I would sell it. If you find a flywheel housing, this might work.

I have a Ford BB flywheel housing for sale if that works for you. It's also $75 plus shipping from San Francisco.

Cheers!
