6 volt flasher question

I recently replaced the tail light bulbs in my stock '50 coupe with LED bulbs. The bulbs work great but do not pull enough resistance for the turn signals to function properly (blink too fast). I found a source for a 6 volt electronic flasher for use with LEDs but it is advertised for a Porsche. I don't know if Porsche was a negative or positive ground system. Would the flasher work in either a positive or negative ground system? My thinking is it is just a switch but I don't want to fry my wiring harness. Any thoughts?

I recently did same w my 39. I added resistors to each - wired them in parallel (adivse I learned on here) now work great

there are other guys with the same problem only with 12 v systems they say to contact superbright systems I have a 1950 ford 6 v would like to change to 6 v led if brighter please keep me informed

I wired them in back by tail lights - unplugging splicing in with second line from the resistor to ground - mine is also 6 volt

Thanks for the instructions. Regarding the function of the LED bulbs, they are much brighter than the conventional ones. You can actually see the brake lights during the day!

You should be able to see the brake lights during the day with normal 6 or 12 volt system, if you can't there is a connection issue, mostly ground circuits can oftentimes be on the hot side. An LED has less current draw and will mask the issue.
Martin.
