ead and eac are the better and best of the flatheads as far as compression, put some mmo in the cylinders to free up any rings, change out the plugs-points-condeser-plug wires and caps and crank it up--just did so to an 8ba that had been sitting in a truck for over 10 years--2 hrs after starting to work on it I was driving it around the yard and before I forget put a mechanical oil guage on the engine

and did yours have any stuck valves ??? i figure this thing has to have a couple stuck valves in it after setting . if so im tol them may free up if i can get it warmed up and oil flowing .

No such thing as "high horse" flathead by today's standards. Brand new from the factory they had 115 at the most.

It's real easy to get a flathead running, even if it's in bad shape. What I mean is that these things will run with virtually no compression, and run on as few as 4 cylinders.

I think you did OK for your $300.

thanks i didnt think it was a bad deal for 300.00 not and its complete and turns over and u can take out one plug at a time and lay your palm over it and feels the air against your hand . i think thats what the guy meant when i showed him a pic of it and he saw the eab heads he said it was high compression and high horse he did say like 110 or etc . i knew they wasnt very much hp when they was new . so im getting a all new tune up kit for it and etc then im going to hook the battery to it and dump some fuel doen the carb and see what happens :)
