Light is out of a 47 Tonner pickup cab, interior cab/dome light was Period Correct option for 46 & 47 situated above rear window.

Your dome light looks just like the one in my 1935 Truck. I drilled out the rivets and was able to get the switch working again. I re-installed it with small bolts. I just had to clean up the contacts. If your unit is missing parts, then it might be harder to fix.

I too have repaired these. Tedious work but worth the effort.
Typically, as has been previously advised, a simple cleaning of the contacts will do the trick. On rare occasion, I have found it necessary to build up a contact or two with solder.

Thanks, guys!
I too will look to repair...
Interestingly, 46 & 47 trucks Ford offered 25+ Period correct options, not many FofA trucks had anywhere near that, Ford of Canada had some & Mercury had many more....
Model51 may well be right, Interior lights may well have been left over from the 30"s....

rawlir,

Even back in 1935, trucks had many options. Attached is a list from the index for Chapters 6 and 7 of my book listing 40 options, some trivial, some came in pairs, but all are Ford supplied accessories for Trucks in 1935 or 1936.

The list is a pdf file so hopefully you can open it.
