36 Ford Oil Pan/Engine Removal

So the day started trying to remove the oil pan off my 36 Ford 3 Window.

I cant seem to get enough clearance with the flywheel to pull the oil pan.
Engine is raised and blocked and will not lift any higher. I have rotated the crank to allow the front of the pan to clear.

At this point I think I'm just going to pull the motor and trans.

Do I need to remove the floor to get at the transmission mount bolts?
Does the rear end need to be disconnected to remove the torque tube?

Thanks in advance. Any other helpful tips will be appreciated.

There is one pan bolt that comes down from on top, right at back of engine, starter motor side...have you removed that? Remove pass side floor board to easily access it.
Yes, you will need to remove floorboards to access the other bolts should you want to remove engine and trans as a unit. You will not need to remove rear end, but you'll need to undo the clamshell. Have fun!

I have taken the pan off my 34 last month,I undid the wishbone ball and let it hang down,
the pan came off with a bit of jiggling, putting it back on, I used 4 off 1/-1/2 long 5/16 unc guide studs, one in each corner, this too took a bit of jiggling as you have to slide the front of the pan in past the fan pulley , but it can be done.
Brian , I will be in Masterton in feb for the model a rally so will bring the forks with me .

I just finished replacing a pan and welsh plugs on my 35 engine in the 35 car. Beside unbolting and removing the usual parts and pieces, I had to disconnect drag link at the pitman and remove wishbone ball cover and front spring U-bolts, front tires off to drop the front radius rods low enough to remove the pan. Blocked the front of the engine up 1-1/2" The interior toe boards had to be disconnected to unbolt the transmission rear mount and the engine steady rods

also you need to remove the fan or genarator and the fuel pump stand , and rad hoses to jack up the motor as high as ypu can get it, it took me 4.5 hrs to get the pan of my 36 pickup
