35 torque tube seal

It was time to go through the rear on my 35 p/u project, broke it all down put in axle seal's, packed bearing's, every thing went fine. Now onto the torque tube seal, the new seal stop's about 3/4 to 1" from where it should, there is a ridge behind the bearing sleve. Have any of you had this problem?
And do I need to coat the driveshaft with grease before slipping the torque tube on. There is no central bearing.

To remove old DS seal & brg race, just use a socket an 1/8" or so smaller than od of seal & use a long rod & a good hit should drive both the brg race & seal out the end.Put in new seal with lip faceing trans.Squeeze new brg sleeve& line up *** on sleeve with dimple in TT & put in place. I coat both the seal lip & DS with grease when I assemble it.
