Guys,
Rebuilding the engine on my stock 35 and ready to put on the pan. The oil pump in bought is a Dynagear precision oil pump DM-19. I bought the sump pick up tube and screen from MAC's 8RT-6615. The problem I have is that the stock oil pan in about 7-3/8" deep (after cutting out the baffles). The new pump assembly is about 7-7/8" from the pan flange to the bottom of the screen. The sump screen cover itself is about 7-3/8". In short, if I removed the screen or smashed in down, the screen cover would be at the bottom of the pan and wouldn't let oil in easily. What do I have wrong?
Thanks much,
Peder
