32 v8 timing gear

I have an original 32 v8 block that I'm putting back together. It has a later cast camshaft with the press on fiber cam gear. The block has been machined for cam bearings. I have a harmon Collins 3/4 race cam that has been waiting for the right engine to come along if I can use it then I can use a bolt on aliminum cam gear. but I find out now the crank gear is also diferent. It still has the original 32 forged crank in it. Can I pull off the crank gear on that early crank and install a later gear to work with the alluminum cam gear ?
Thanks
Ed

I can't answer the above question in your post, however, if you find out you can't do what you are asking, I have an NORS 56 tooth, '32 to early '35, aluminum press-on type timing gear for sale here in the classifieds, if you determine that your best approach would be to just stay with the later cast camshaft using a press on type gear and would rather use aluminum instead fiber. Just a thought.

Thanks I'll keep that timing gear in mind. I tried to pull the crank gear off tonight with a puller its being very stuborn might have to use a little heat.
