The narrow bed tail gate had two hinges and the Ford logo. The wide bed had a tail gate with 3 hinges, no Ford logo and special fenders that were 10” as opposed to the regular 12” fenders. The 10” fenders are not being reproduced (A-16168 and A-16169) by anyone at this time. This wide bed, designed by Briggs, was introduced in May of 1931. This bed had straight sides, unimpeded by inner wheel arches, and a 16-gauge steel floor. Its cargo capacity was 22.2 cubic feet, up from the previous 16.5 cubic feet, via its 59.4-inch length, 46-inch width and 16.7-inch height.
